Home after a good night at work with a glass of Bonizio Cecchi, remembering the dinner at which the bottle was originally ordered. Wishing the girlies were back in town, but I can’t be thankful enough for how close we’ve managed to stay in spite of the distance. It’s good to be able to have “reservists” who know what you’re all about to listen and share in all...

It's Official
I’m a waitress. And I don’t entirely suck at it. And it doesn’t completely suck either. Go me.
Closing Date
is in just over 2 weeks (supposedly). It’s starting to get a teensy bit real. We will have to find out if RI Housing requires installation of the water heater before the closing (I hope not). I foresee lots of shopping on a new Sears card later. New appliances and lighting fixtures and yard equipment are in my future. Stay tuned for pics and piles of decision-making…

I'm officially giving up on the ShopVac.
It is only useful for large messes in a small space. Not stairs. Not kitchens. Definitely not a 2-level apartment. I will be buying a vacuum in the VERY near future.
On a side note, holy fuck I’m shopping for washer/dryer sets.

Alice in Wonderland was incredible, I bought some beautiful plants for my new garden next to the front step, oh…and that thing up there, too…

Shutter Island
It wasn’t bad. Just don’t pay full price. Based on a book that pulled from TONS of old movie plots, the result was predictable. It did, however, entertain and creep me out enough to take my mind off the massive heating bill that arrived in the mailbox of the tiny apartment just hours earlier.
Commence financial miracle.
I'm a conundrum...
I remain obsessed with designer labels as I peruse Lucky magazine while thoroughly enjoying my Narragansett beer.

Why I love NetFlix
For Christmas, Jon must have been very good, because Santa brought him a new XBox 360 Elite, which is now sitting below our flatscreen. All hooked up with HDMI cables and games to keep him happy for the next six months, I am more excited about the FREE NETFLIX TRIAL!!! I thought we’d never get sucked in (we don’t watch that many movies!) but apparently this is because we don’t...

I am bored.
I have come up with a list of possibilities to keep myself occupied until I buy my new netbook (after Windows 7 is released).
Dye my hair (red or a new color brown)
Get highlights (caramel)
Paint my bathroom and make a frame for the mirror
Buy a Wii (in spite of significantly limited funds)
Start a baking business (in spite of significantly limited kitchen space)
Thoughts?

Wow...
The girl who, in high school, refused to purchase designer (Tommy Hilfiger, DKNY) clothing from TJ Maxx just told her cat to “Stop scratching the Chanel!”
And I don’t feel bad about it, either.

That I’m seeing the light at the end of the tunnel?
One more shift at Med Tech to help pay the rent, one new prospecting opportunity to begin this afternoon (you’ll be hearing all about it later). Health insurance possibly lining up, and an extra double shift next week to sweeten the deal.
Hopefully this isn’t just the beam from my proverbial flashlight flickering off the back...

All of which took me maybe 20 minutes, my hair has already started to curl even though the hair dresser straightened it.

AN IMPORTANT NOTICE
THE OSCAR MEYER WEINER VAN IS CURRENTLY IN RI. AND I PASSED IT ON RTE 95 WHILE TAKING A PATIENT TO BUTLER HOSPITAL. AND IT WAS AWESOME. THAT IS ALL.
Discovery:
Jon and I do not generate a great deal of garbage. However, we make up for it in dirty dishes.

Dear Cutting Board:
You served your purpose valiantly for a solid 3 years. You were well-loved and started the “Bon-Appetit Kitchen” theme. Today, you were unceremoniously and hopelessly shattered. Unless you consider me tipping a cocktail shaker from the top shelf while simultaneously yelling “Shit!Shit!” while Jon rushed to my rescue “ceremonious”. You will be sorely missed.
Moving Day!
So today is Day #1 of moving in to the new apartment! I’ve moved all less-than-necessary kitchen items as well as some random items of clothing from my car and one dragon-shaped kite that has been sitting in my trunk since Jon’s mom sent it to us and we flew it about 2 years ago.
Also, my suspicions have been confirmed: I am the proud owner of a walk-in closet. The kind with a shelf...
It's not that I'm jealous...
It’s that I’m simply annoyed with another person’s happiness. That’s better, right?
Damn You, Norm Abram
Apparently it is a cinch to build your own house. If you have things like mortising jigs and adjustable routers with mallet attachments to square off the router cut for your hinge and door handle hardware. Me, Home Depot, and a needlenose plier haven’t got a chance.
Epic
I fell down my basement stairs today. Apparently, I am doomed to fall on my ass at each residence I move into for any period of time. Go me! Can’t wait to see how banged up I can get at the new Coventry address in a few weeks!
Thunderstorms all day
Zaya is afraid of the thunder and lightning, so he is somewhere in the house, hiding. His previous sub-coffee-table location was deemed not safe enough after he emerged to drink the leftover milk at the bottom of the cereal bowl and realized he could still hear everything. He was never scared before, but I think that has something to do with the windows being open when one of the bolts nearly...
It's Official!
I have an apartment. And it’s huge. And yeah, I have to use the laundromat for the first time ever. But it’s near my favorite library! AND I HAVE NO “ROOMMATES” TO SPEAK OF! HUZZAH!!!!!

At Jitters Coffee Shop this morning...
I had just finished paying for my iced coffee, and the woman who had nearly hit me with her car on the way in was cashing out just behind me. As I unwrapped the paper from my straw, I was eavesdropping on the exchange of usual pleasantries between the cashier (the only guy who works in this whole place, since apparently you get better tips if you’re working the alliterative...
Transformers 2
Backstory = Massive thumbsdown
Everything else = Awesome
Can we please have the robots shut up a little and just blow up some more stuff?
Devastation
MY LOCAL GROCER DOES NOT CARRY ALPHA-BITS.
Cue uncontrollable public cries of despair.
I'm going to kill this bird!
He woke me up, and every time he “chirps” (about every 0.2 seconds!) it sounds like someone is trying to kill a large goose.
Addendum
Coffee syrup
Things I must always keep in the house
Tortilla chips
Brie
Italian bread
Crackers
Chocolate chips
Cookies
Milk
Without these, I am lost
When I finally get paid...
I am contemplating buying a Wii. Thoughts?
Mmm...
I made an apple pie. Pics to follow.
I very much enjoy
getting drunk dials when I am also drunk at the time. It amuses me.
Side Note
I think if I had a Blackberry, I would join Twitter. Then there would be no stopping you all from knowing how lame my life is.
Anybody wanna buy me a Blackberry?
New method of cleaning:
Get motivated, then just throw everything away. Starting with the garbage, and working all the way up to the couch. It’s gonna happen. Hopefully it will be before the last week of July.
